Semester!!!

Nu har jag semester! Trots sistaminuten-panik blev allting ordnat och färdigt innan semestern. Effektiv är mitt andra namn! ;)

PUHH!!

Imorgon bär det av på The Great Journey :)

Croatia and Crazy Cats

Seems like I'm going to Croatia this june, to sail on a big boat. :)

Me and my boyfriend has a group of friends from Luleå who are skippers/skippers by association. One of them has rented a boat who will take us sailing the adriatic sea.

Seems like the adventures of Fia has not come to a total stop, it's just been on pause for the winter season. :)

I can also inform you that the cats have survived the trip to the vet, all though Aska made a sound that sounded like a ambulance siren all the way to the station. And after the visit, I got some pills to calm the other cat Sota down (she's been a bit hormonal lately even though she's castrated). She ended up veeery mellow. In fact, she was soo lazy, when she went to rest, she didn't care enough to walk all the way to her spot but laid down on her sister. I don't know what's better, having a miaoing cat or a indifferent cat.

The effects of stress

Yesterday at half past one in the night I got the idea that my alarmclock had gone off. I looked at it - drowsy - and thought it said six thirty, so I pulled myself up, took a shower, got dressed and fed the cats. The first clue I got that it was middle in the night was when my cats didn't come for breakfast. I went to the couch where my grey cat Aska lay, firmly asleep. I poked at her, she did wake but didnt move so much. Strange, I thought. But I couldn't stand there and poke the cat all morning, (no matter how funny it is to poke sleeping cats) I had to go to job. So I looked at the watch to see how late I was, and THEN I realized that the wristclock said 01.55. At first I thought the watch had stopped, but then I realized... it hadn't.

Needless to say, I was pretty upset. And my hair was wet. Do you know how bad it looks to go to bed with wet and short hair? It's bad. I would have to wash my hair again when I got up for the second time. Oh, the horror! I went back to bed, I tossed and turned all night, barely getting any sleep at all.

By telling this story to a couple of friends, I realized that (looking back on the past weeks) I have been completely stressed out. Some of it was workrelated stress. Some of it was anxiety for my boyfriend who today leaves me for three weeks in Thailand (I'm a little worried he will have forgotten something at home, like his passport, or that he will miss the plane).

The wake up was in deed a wake up call. Or more like a big blinking neon sign telling me 'Slow down!'. My boyfriend will get to Thailand, and I will get my work done when I get it done. I am doing it as fast as I can.

Now I'm sitting on the couch, all alone for the next three weeks. I'm missing my boyfriend all ready, but at the same time I'm excited about living alone, coming and going as I please, eating when and what I please (mmm bacon!), reading on the couch... I have a feeling I will get some more blogging done. ;)

Until next time, have a great weekend!

Home and Away

I am yet again home, but also away from home. It's confusing, this business of going home/away. Home should be where the heart is, and all though I love skåne, my heart is with family and friends in norrbotten...

The trip south took about 10 hours, first the long drive to Umeå from Älvsbyn, took about 3,5 hours. Then waiting, and flying, waiting and flying some more, arriving in Sturup, Skåne, then by bus to Malmö, and by taxi to Trelleborg (I didn't want to wait an hour longer for the bus... Damn sunday traffic! *mutters*)
I shall soon go to sleep since tomorrow is my first working-day in the new year, but first I have some serious relaxing to do in front of one of my favourite series, True blood. So, with the bed underneath me, the laptop in my knee, the mango tea in my right hand and the satsumas in my left hand and the head.. massage.. thingy..? in my hair, I am now disconnecting.

Stay tuned for the yearly recollection and summary, it will be up sometime in the beginning of next week!

Copenhagen, or There and back again

Today we went to Copenhagen for the first time (in my life). The mission was to eat danish christmas brunch, cause this is a popular thing to do in Denmark. It just so happens, it's SO popular that people book restaurants months, maybe a year in advance, so that they can enjoy this tradition on a annual base. So, naturally, there where not a single restaurant that served christmas brunch that had vacancies. Bummer. But never the less, someone in the group (I'm not pointing any fingers, but there's two of us and I'm not the one being pointed at) wanted to check through all of Copenhagen - just in case there where any cancellations. A thorough empirical study gave us an accurate answer: there were NO cancellations.

After me, desperately trying to get us to at least buy a hot dog, we finally settled for ordinary brunch. And by that time, I was a complete mess. I hadn't eaten a thing all morning, and - having a sensitive blood sugar - I was more like a zombie than anything else. I was growling, snapping, complaining. But when I warmed up in the restaurant and got good food and a beer, I quickly became my old self again.

Mission number two was to go into Tivoli, a famous amusementpark that has wonderful christmas decoration. Having been warned by people NOT to go there late in the afternoon because it would be too crowded , the goal was to go directly after brunch. But since the brunch took soo long, we where at Tivoli around four in the afternoon, and the que to get inside was several blocks long. We threw that idea out of the window and went to a pub to buy some more beer.

Needless to say, I was somewhat disapointed, more with missing out on Tivoli than missing the christmas brunch, but it was all okay in the end since we actually got to see a LOT of Copenhagen. We went all the way to Nyhavn (which is a really long walk!) and we ate aebbleskider ('appleslices' that are put in pancake dough, turned into balls, and eaten with tasty jam). The danish people seem very happy (I've heard something about it having to do with the amount of alcohol they drink every day...) and I would LOVE to go over another day. After all, it's only 50 kilometres away. All we had to do was take the train, and we're there!

Surprise, surprise

My mother is celebrating her fiftieth birthday today (saturday), and for that special occasion I have travelled up for the weekend. It was a big secret, so of course only dad, my brothers and an aunt knew. And some more people, because dad has a problem with keeping secrets... ;)

It was really fun to see the look on moms face when she saw me. She couldn't believe it actually was me! And then we cried a little, and all was good... :)

Tomorrow it's a big party for family and friends. I look forward to meeting our scottish friends and their young ones, and all my relatives too.

I wish you all a good weekend!
Happy birthday mom!!

Blogging in Arlanda

* Äta på max (om jag nu blir hungrig någon gång)
* Fortsätta läsa Marian Keyes
* Möjligtvis blogga på bokbloggen med

Men ändå.

Och ni... en sak till. TJOHOOOOO! Jag har min första betalda semester!
SiFi over and out

Ps.

Ds. nr 2.

So Exciting! It will run for fifty years!

Jag talar förstås om Australia. Mycket bra film... Baz Luhrman rocks.

So Exciting, It Will Run For Fiiiiftyyy Yeeeeeaaars.

Ridån faller.
